Unattended direct cremations are generally for:
• People who do not feel they need or want to have a formal, public, ceremonial funeral. Most people who opt for an unattended direct cremation could easily afford a traditional funeral, but they choose not to in line with their personal beliefs or values.
• People who cannot afford a simple funeral. Because of its basic nature, unattended direct cremation is the cheapest funeral option.
A direct cremation is a simple, unattended cremation with no formal funeral service or mourners present. It is typically the most affordable option, as the deceased is collected, brought back to our premises provided with a basic gown, natural Jute coffin, and cremated locally at a date and time of our choosing. The ashes can be scattered in the crematorium garden of remembrance or returned to our office for your collection, allowing you to plan your own memorial separately.
By arranging a direct cremation through us you can be sure your loved one will receive the highest standard of care and respect with the cremation taking place locally. Visiting your loved one in our chapel of rest can also be arranged at an additional cost.
